plus ONE of the following compliance options.

Denver green building ordinance

The Denver Green Building Ordinance rules and regulations governing the green building requirements has been updated and finalized as of June 13, 2019 to allow for alternative compliance options when it is time for roof replacement on buildings over 25,000 square feet.

Under the Green Building Ordinance Denver now requires roof replacement and new roofs to comply with green building requirements. These requirements applicable to re-roofs of existing buildings 25,000 square feet or larger. Roof replacements must include the installation of a “cool roof” plus one compliance option.

Denver Green Building Ordinance gives affected building owners several ways of meeting the requirements as outlined below.

The ordinance excludes residential structures not taller than three stories.
